ATI Catalyst Performance-Tests

Nach der Vorstellung der neuen ATI-Treiber Catalyst 3.7 für Grafikkarten der Radeon-Familie fragen sich natürlich etliche Anwender, die noch den alten Treiber installiert haben und damit zufrieden fahren, ob es sich lohnt, den neuen Treiber zu installieren. Immerhin ist die Liste der "Known Issues" etliche Punkte lang.

wirklich viel kann man mit den vergleichstests nicht anfangen. der test auf amd in sight sagt noch am meisten aus, allerdings wurde auch hier nicht auf die (angeblich) behobenen probleme in diversen spielen eingegangen.

Leider besitz ich nicht alle Spiele, wo Probleme behoben wurden sind Alle getesteten Spiele machten aber keinerlei Probleme, bei keinem der Treiber.

ich hab mir den treiber gezogen und per hand gemoddet, dass dit uff mein laptop mit ner 9600 läuft. der treiber ist, bis jetzt richtig gut. ich warte aber auch noch sehnlichst, dass das entsprechende omega derivat rauskommt.

Lieber als ein Omega waere mir ein 3.8, in dem auch das FS2004-Problem (siehe Known Issues) gefixt ist.

Das einzige Spiel, das ich "spiele", erst ewig auf die neue Version gewartet, und jetzt diese nervigen Fehler - und das, obwohl der FS in den USA schon 6 Wochen draussen ist! Wann machen denn die "Redaktionsschluss"?

Also, ich habe Probleme mit dem 3.7, die der 3.5 nicht macht (3.6 ausgelassen):

Elite Force II läuft nur mehr mit ~2 FPS (Springdale/P4/Radeon 9700Pro). Quake ist ok, 3DMark ist ok, mehr habe ich nicht getestet. Das Problem tritt nur im Vollbildmodus auf. Im Fenster ist alles ok. Es tritt auch nicht auf, wenn man 'Z-Puffer 16 bit erzwingen' anwählt - aber dann flackern entfernte Texturen, einige Kanten sind extrem 'stufig' und volumetrischer Schatten funktioniert nicht. Das Problem tritt auch nicht auf bei 16 bit Desktop Farbtiefe - aber das ist auch nicht sehr schön.

Mein Zweitrechner (KT266A/Athlon XP/Radeon 9600Pro) zeigt diese Symptome ebenfalls nicht ...

Dürfte also eher ein seltenes Symptom sein. Momentan habe ich wieder den 3.5 er installiert....

Hab den 3.7 auch drauf jez , was mir sofort aufgefallen ist , hatte zuvor den aktuellsten omega drauf , in Jedi Knight 3 Demo sind seltsame bildfehler bei bestimmten stellen wo lichter vorkommen da blitzt es komisch auf ne art clipping fehler , dass war zuvor mitm omega nicht der fall und auch so bin ich de rmeinung das die qualitaet mieser ist als beim omega(3.6) auf Bildqualitaet bezogen jez . Mehr oder weniger frames habe ich nicht wirklich +- 1oder2 frames , kommt aufs spiel an . Ich bin sehr gespannt auf den omega 3.7 , wenn der so gut wie der 3.6 wird dann hau ich den drauf bis dahin bleibt der alte omega ersma drauf .


*edit* ach ja aufgefallen ist mir auch das die einstellungen für AGP 2x - 8x fehlt und FastWrites einstellungen auch , oder ich bin blöde und seh es nicht .

*edit2* Und in Jedi Knight stürzt er oft ab wenn man von einem "kontrollpunkt" laden will anchdem man gestorben ist , so das ich nur noch den reset schalter am rRechner druecken kann weil alles andre nicht mehr geht ( mega freeze ) war mit dem 3.6 omega auch nicht gewesen! Zudem startet mein Windows wesentlich lahmarschiger als zuvor!
Mal ganz kurz gesagt , dieser treiber ist die absolute lachpille , mehr nicht...

This are my "optimized" drivers for the ATI Radeon family
of video cards.

* Based on the official Catalyst 3.7 ATI drivers. (9x/ME/2k/XP)
* Hope to have fixed all the "card not recognized" problems. (9x/ME/2k/XP)
* The 9500->9700 and 9700->9800 hacks are now two separate files, this will fix
some incompatibility problems in 9500 cards not liking the 9800 optimizations. (2k/XP)
* The 9x/ME drivers still don't have the hacked driver incorporated, sorry. (9x/ME)

REMINDERS:
1- If you have the normal ATI drivers, uninstall the ATI Control Panel BEFORE
upgrading to these drivers, the drivers already have the CP integrated
and another CP may cause conflicts or other problems.
2- There is no need to uninstall ANY previous drivers (ATI or OMEGA) when
installing these, they will override any previous settings.
3- In Windows 2k/XP, ALWAYS disable DDC in the ATI "Displays/Monitor" CP after
installing drivers to be able to use ALL the refresh rates and resolutions
your monitor supports, also this is the best way to avoid the 60Hz RR bug.
4- The WDM drivers for VIVO and AIW cards are not included, but they can be
downloaded separately from a link in my drivers page.
5- I have received various E-Mails asking about FastWrites, there is only one
answer to that: TURN IT OFF
The Radeon cards do support FastWrites and they will work with it on
(on some machines), but it is not recommended, there is NO SPEED gain
when using FW, and this option will affect your PC's stability a LOT.

I don't recomend the use of ANY tweakers with my drivers, as they override
my special settings and will make my work useless. The only time I recommend
a tweaker is when you have a specific problem with a specific tweak and need
to change it in order to make the drivers work correctly. Also if you use one
for overclocking, FSAA, Gamma or Aniso settings, is just fine.

If you have any problems with this drivers please go to my webpage
and look in the ATI help section for answers. If still have problems
look for the drivers thread in www.driverheaven.net forums and let me know
what is going on.

If you happen to find a new tweak or fix for a specific game or many games
and it proves that it works then drop me an E-Mail (don't post it in the
forums), I'll make sure credit will be granted to that person in this INFO file.

IMPORTANT: Don't bother ATI about this drivers as they are unsupported by them!
