In der aktuellen TOP500 Liste der Supercomputer konnte AMD bereits einige Erfolge vorweisen (wir <a href="http://www.planet3dnow.de/cgi-bin/newspub/viewnews.cgi?id=1151511004">berichteten</a>). Für das Peloton Linux Cluster Projekt haben sich nun die Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories (LLNL) für eine Voltaire Grid Backbone Lösung entschieden, die auf AMDs Opteron setzt.
Der Supercomputer wird aus drei Appro 1U Quad XtremeServer Linux Clustern mit insgesamt 8.064 Dual-Core Opterons bestehen.
