Auf dem Pacific Crest Technology Forum 2006 wurde AMD durch Randy Allen (AMD Corporate Vice President) vertreten, der am heutigen Dienstag eine Präsentation abgehalten hat.

Also hier nochmal die interessanenten Punkte!
Bis Ende dieses Quartals soll also eine neue Opteron-Architektur angekündigt werden. Die Frage die sich stellt: Quad-Core K8 in 65nm oder QC-K8L in 65nm?
Auf jeden Fall sind die neuen CPU's zum Sockel F kompatibel. Das selbe wird dementsprechend wohl auch für AM2 CPUs gelten.

FBDIMM wird wohl erstmal noch ein Weilchen brauchen. Zuviele Nachteile, vor allem der Stromverbrauch.

AMD arbeitet mit ATI an Serverchipsätzen. Auch die Zusammenarbeit mit Kooperationspartnern wird fortgesetzt.

Endlich mal gute Nachrichten von AMD. Das freut das Overclockerherz.
Hmm neuer Opteron klingt gut. Bin mit meinem Alten je recht zufrieden.
