Hallo
http://folding.typepad.com/news/2007/11/sc2007-demo-new.html

I shouldn't say too much before we are closer to release, but I can say that we are running on 2xxx series boards using CAL. See http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070514-amd-launches-the-hd-2000-series.html for a detailed discussion of some of the new ATI GPU goodies.

Neuigkeiten:
Several people have been curious about any news regarding a new GPU client/core. We hit a few snags and then hit the holiday break, but the team is back now. We have the new client running in our lab and we're doing some final Q&A on it. The new code is running on the latest ATI cards (2xxx and 3xxx) and getting pretty good performance so far. The performance is pretty good now (after some optimizations from Mark and Mike H.), so I'm optimistic. This does not look like a 6-month delay, more like a few week delay, but it's hard to tell -- you can't predict the unpredictable things which can come up.

Es geht voran:
http://folding.typepad.com/news/2008/01/code-developmen.htmlGPU core: we've got the GPU core running in house and we found and fixed some bugs in our QA stage. We're now continuing QA to see if we find any more bugs. Right now, the GPU core is running on all new ATI cards, so we're excited to roll it out. We are using CAL now (ATI's hardware abstraction layer) and that seems to make life a lot easier, and also should make running a GPU client a lot easier from the point of view of donors, as the driver issues and complexities should now be resolved. We are still looking into an NVIDIA client. The NVIDIA GPUs are very different to program, so a port isn't a simple thing to do. We are looking into this, though.

We're pretty happy with the results of the QA from our new GPU core and we are working with ATI to do some more extensive QA. If that goes well, the next step is a closed beta, and then an open beta (i.e. downloads on our web site).
(...)
I'll keep everyone posted here as we go along. It's hard to tell how long this current QA stage will take (and a lot of it depends on whether any major bugs surface), but we're happy to see this baby go out the door, at least with its first small steps.

http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1172AMD/ATI Support
1xxx series hardware is currently supported.
2xxx and 3xxx development was progressing well and an pre-beta client was demoed. Unfortunately a serious bug was found during internal QA which prevented its release in late Q4 07. Although PandeGroup appreciate the offers of further beta testing and QA from the community, confidence in the scientific validity of the results produced by the buggy pre-beta is low and it would not be possible to credit points for that work. A full QA run takes X days/weeks and several iterations of code updates and QA may be needed.
We anticipate a release in Q1 08 (or H1 08).
http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1171nVidia Support
Folding@Home does not currently run on nVidia hardware due to incompatibilities between Brook and nVidia display drivers. All parties are currently working on a solution, but the timeframe is unknown.
It is not currently being developed with CUDA because the aim is for Folding@Home to be a cross-platform solution and CUDA only works with nVidia GPUs.

Ne, 11. Allerdings wundert mich das hier:
Folding@Home GPU Core - Beta
Version 1.00 (Fri Nov 2 13:40:51 PDT 2007)
/e:
