VIA KT400 vorgestellt

Chipsatzhersteller VIA hat gestern offiziell den KT400 vorgestellt. Im Rahmen der Quakecon 2002 präsentierte man den KT333-Nachfolger der Öffentlichkeit. Supporting DDR200/266/333 SDRAM memory and a full range of 200/266MHz Processor Bus AMD Athlon™ XP and AMD Duron™ processors, the VIA Apollo KT400 provides lightning fast access to system memory and delivers more performance across the application spectrum than rival Socket-A chipset platforms.

DDR333 offers 2.7GB/s of memory bandwidth through VIA's low latency, ultra efficient memory controller while AGP 8X delivers 2.1GB/s of bandwidth to the graphics engine, improving image quality and 3D performance in the highest resolution conditions. Wie man sieht deutet die "400" im Produktnamen offiziell nicht auf DDR400 hin. Lediglich DDR333 wird erwähnt. Die Kollegen von <a href="http://www.ocworkbench.com/2002/gigabyte/7vaxp/7vaxpgallery1.htm" target="_blank">OCWorkbench</a> sind allerdings bereits im Besitz einer Gigabyte GA-7VAXP Platine. Auf den dortigen Screenshots sieht man, das ein DDR400-Betrieb sehr wohl möglich ist ...

Das nenne ich Verunsicherung des Kunden!!!

Und Innovationsarmut seitens VIA ist ebenfalls gegeben...

wahrscheinlich wird dann erst mal Kt400's gebem und wenn ich dann schnell einen kaufe kommt der KT400A raus der dann auch FSB 166 u 200er ram unterstützt

so geschehen beim KT133 undich sitz hier immernoch mit meinem Abit KT7 !!!

Daß DDR400 offiziell nicht unterstützt wird, mag daran liegen, daß es auch noch keine offizielle Spezifikation von der JEDEC dafür gibt und deshalb offiziell DDR400 noch gar nicht existiert

eben .. und die spezifikationen passen dann nicht zum KT400 so dass dann ein KT400a ran muss

irgendwie werden die so einen scheiss wieder mit dem ungebildeten user (mir) machen
