CeBIT: Intels Viiv Plattform - erste Boards und Systeme

Bei ASUS gibt es ein brandneues Mainboard für Intels neue <a href="http://www.intel.com/products/viiv/index.htm" TARGET="b">Viiv-Plattform</a> zu bestaunen. Mit Viiv definiert Intel ähnlich wie unter dem Schlagwort Centrino auf der Mobile-Seite einen Standard für Multimedia-Systeme. Ziel ist es zu vernünftigen Preisen ein möglichst umfangreiches Repertoire an Features anzubieten, die für ein Multimedia-System notwendig sind, also für Videobearbeitung, Fotobearbeitung, Musik und Spiele. Richtig. Die paradoxe Krone erhält die Sache nach meiner Meinung von dem folgenden Zusammenspiel:

Wenn man nun bedenkt, dass das ASUS Viiv-Board den Core Duo ohne 64 Bit Support unterstützt, scheinen mir die Mindestanforderungen für Viiv von intel im Bezug auf den Core Duo etwas falsch gewählt, da der Core Duo nach der Inteldefinition von Viiv aufgrund des Fehlens des 64 Bit Supports nicht Viiv-tauglich ist.

Das liest sich so als ob Intel derzeit einen AMD-Prozessor vorraussetzt 8)
