It will sample in the third calendar quarter of 2006, with single-core and quad-core versions due in early and late 2007, respectively, and an eight-core version planned for 2008.

a) 64 Bit
b) L2 NICHT mehr beim Core, sondern extra !
Diagramm s. http://www.realworldtech.com/page.cfm?ArticleID=RWT102405055354&p=2

Schon mal betrachtet welche Personen* P.A.Semi betreiben? ... das macht Augenpipi bei manchen neidischen Konkurrenten. -> A Conversation with Dan Dobberpuhl

The XCalibur1411 is a high-performance AdvancedTCA (ATCA) single-board multiprocessing computer for applications requiring the maximum computing power available per blade. Nine P.A. Semi PWRficient PA6T-1682 dual-core processors, each with two PA6T Power Architecture cores operating at up to 2.0 GHz, provide ample computing bandwidth. Each dual-core processor is complemented with two channels of up to 2 GB each of DDR2 ECC SDRAM, providing up to 36 GB of total onboard SDRAM.
Each processing node is interconnected through a x2 PCI Express link to the utility processor and two 1-Gbps SGMII interfaces to a Gigabit Ethernet switch. The Gigabit Ethernet switch also provides two 10-Gbps XAUI ATCA fabric interface ports.
The utility processor supports 2 MB of LPC NOR flash, 2 MB of SPI NOR flash, as well as 4 GB of NAND flash for non-volatile storage. Each node processor supports up to 2 MB of LPC NOR flash and 2 MB of SPI NOR flash.
The XCalibur1411 is a powerful, feature-rich solution for the next generation of computationally intensive embedded applications. Operating system support for VxWorks, QNX, and Linux 2.6 are available.

Immerhin verstaubt anscheinend nichts

http://blogs.barrons.com/techtrader...-working-on-a-secret-new-pa-semi-based-gizmo/Sometime in the second half of 2009, Apple (AAPL) will launch “a completely new device category” based on chips produced by PA Semiconductor, a company Apple acquired earlier this year for a reported $278 million. That’s according to Trip Chowdhry, an analyst at Global Equities Research. What he doesn’t know, though, is what the device is.
Chowdhry writes in a note that he expects “many” patent filings related to the new device early in 2009 “that may give some indications of what the device may be.”
He also contends that Apple in the same time frame will launch a next-generation iPhone based on a PA Semi chip which will supposedly provide 2-3x the battery life and 1.3-1.5x the performance. Chowdhry also says that the new chip will have the Objective-C instruction set built into the chip, “boosting application performance by 2x.”
