ATI hat sein CATALYST Grafikkarten- und Chipsatz-Treiberpaket in der Version 8.3 zum Download freigegeben. Voraussetzung für das CATALYST Control Center (CCC*) ist unter Windows XP ein installiertes Microsoft .NET Framework. Eine aktuelle Version des .NET Framework kann man über die Microsoft Windows Update Seite beziehen.
Der Catalyst 8.3 beinhaltet den Support für <a href="http://www.planet3dnow.de/cgi-bin/newspub/viewnews.cgi?category=1&id=1204652114">CrossFireX</A> und <a href="http://www.planet3dnow.de/cgi-bin/newspub/viewnews.cgi?category=1&id=1204620318">Hybrid-Crossfire</a>, wie in den gestrigen CeBIT-News vermeldet.

Users with any combination of a ATI Radeon™ HD 3870, ATI Radeon™ HD 3850, and ATI Radeon™ HD 3870 X2 graphics accelerators running with 3 or 4 GPUs will be able to run in CrossFireX™ Quad mode (when used in a CrossFireX™ compatible PC). CrossFireX™ Quad will deliver significant performance improvements in a number of applications. Users can expect to see further DirectX 10 QUAD CrossFireX™ performance improvements in future Catalyst™ releases.
Users are now able to run in CrossFireX™ (Quad) mode while running in extended desktop mode on the Windows Vista desktop

This release of Catalyst™ introduces new advanced video quality controls which include:
* Edge enhancement, which adjusts the level of sharpness of video content
* De-noise, which removes ghosting artifacts while preserving details of the original video
Note: To turn off De-noise, you must drag the De-noise slider completely to the left (with a value of 0), followed by placing a check mark in the Enable check-box.
The new slider controls can be found in the All Settings page of the Avivo Video tab found in the Catalyst™ Control Center.

Schön dass das wieder drin ist, habe ich seit 7.12 vermisst.
Leider sehe ich beim deutschen vista64 CCC nur ein "File not found" wenn ich es runterladen will.

Ich hab gerade den 8.3 installiert und hab bei CoD UO !!! unglaubliche Frameeinbrüche
Wie mit dem 8.2 hab ich Standart so ~ 60 FPS die auch mal bei größeren Ballereien auf 20 - 25 sinken aber mit dem 8.3 ging es ebend bis auf 4 FPS runter Sobald mehr als 3 Leute im Bild sind sackt alles weg und wenn dann noch eine Explosion oder/und Nebel/Rauch ins Spiel kommt ist alles vorbei
Hab zwar alles im Spiel auf High oder Extra aber das sollte mit ner 2600XT nicht so unbedingt das Problem sein.

AA klappt jetzt mit meiner X1900 XT unter XP32bit super bei UT3, GoW, MoH:A, BioShock & Stranglehold
Hammer! So viele Änderungen hätten ja gleich für mehrere Treiberversionen gelangt
Ist ein neuer Treiberstrang. An der Namensgebung des Produktes sieht man das ja nicht, aber hier hätte man wohl eine vordere Nummer gewechselt, hätte man ein anderes Namensschema.

neu ist auch, das man jetzt gpuscaling einschalten kann (für LCDs, die nicht auf nativer auflösung betrieben werden). funzt zwar immer noch nicht, aber zumindest nen neues auswahlmenü ham die eingebaut
auch hat es bei mir zwei installationen gebraucht. nach der ersten wurde erstmal gar nichts mehr erkannt, ergo 640x480x4bit, also wieder runter, diesmal mit drivercleaner und dann halt nochmal installiert. dieser smartgarttest hat dann die falschen einstellungen gemacht (agp read/write aus), also die manuell eingeschalten, nach nem neustart gings dann. das war bei der 8.2 und einigen davor auch schon mal besser

Das stand genauso unsinnig und unverändert schon im letzten 8.2er Readme so drin. Liest das auch einer von Ati mal Korrektur? Ma weiß, was da noch alles nicht stimmt...
Und wann gibt es einen Linux-Treiber, der die HD3xxx-Reihe unterstützt? Ich hatte gehofft, daß das mit dem Catalyst 8.3 geschehen würde...

Eine Frage der Prioritäten. Natürlich ist das unschön, aber mal ehrlich, der Anteil der Leute, die Vista und gleichzeitig ein Floppy nutzen, dürfte schon ziemlich gering sein, dazu kommt, daß es nicht alle Rechner sind, sondern nur DellXPS410. Würde AMD den paar Leuten einen kleinen USB-Stick schenken, wäre das wohl noch billiger als einen weiteren Treiberprogrammierer dafür zu bezahlen, das zu reparieren. Auf die Weise gibt es einen Haufen "known issues", die über Monate hinweg nicht gefixt werden. Aber das dürfte bei den Treibern aller anderen Hardwarehersteller auch so sein, nur geben die selten so umfangreiche Releasenotes heraus.
Völlig richtig, so ist das ganze total unbrauchbar für die meisten Leute, vor allem dort, wo es besonders interessant wäre, nämlich bei dicken Grafikkarten, die idle schon mehr verbraten als 3450+Onboardgrafik zusammen unter Last. Nur was heißt "übriggeblieben"? Mehr wurde doch nie behauptet, es gab nur irgendwelche wilde Gerüchte. Wenn ich Dir sage, daß Du nächste Woche 1 Mio € im Lotto gewinnst und dann gewinnst Du tatsächlich, aber nur 1000€, bist Du dann auch enttäuscht?Ole schrieb:Da ist vom Stromsparen ja gar nichts mehr übrig geblieben. Bei mir auch - sogar jetzt noch.Leider sehe ich beim deutschen vista64 CCC nur ein "File not found" wenn ich es runterladen will.
Das Lustige ist, dass der Download bei Sprachen wie Turkish, Thai und Danish geht - bei German, meiner Meinung nach neben den großen Sprachen wie Englisch, Französisch und Spanisch eine der gefragtesten Sprachen, tut sich bisher nichts. Na ja, mal abwarten...

Der eigentliche Witz ist ja das bei CoD UO die Frames garnicht mehr über 62 gehen sondern eigentlich stabil bleiben egal bei welche Umgebung Normalerweise sacken die Frames ja etwas ab wenn viele Bäume usw. kommen und gehen in Räumen höher. Bloß halt sobald 2 - 3 Leute anfangen zu ballern bricht alles komplett ein

Hat den jemand schon auf nem 690G ausprobiert? Hab hier noch ein M2A-VM mit XP mit den original von Asus ausgelieferten Treibern, dachte mir, kann man ja mal ausprobieren.
Was muss ich machen, einfach Treiber in der Systemsteuerung-Software deinstallieren, oder auch im Gerätemanger was machen? Und dann das neue Paket installieren und gut is?

Grafikflakern bei Frontlines mit 2x HD 2600Pro ist besser, aber längst nicht weg.
Geschwindigkeit mit einer Karte ist, denke ich, gleich oder minimal schneller.

Habe den Treiber jetzt auch aktualisiert und erstmalig seit Ati-Gedenken funktioniert das hier auf einen TFT ohne Interpolations[ab|um]schaltmöglichkeit:
Enable GPU scaling und Maintain aspect ratio
Alte Games, die nur 4:3 kennen, werden jetzt auch wirklich 4:3 auf meinem Widescreen dargestellt und nicht mehr - egal was man einstellte - auf 16:10 aufgespannt und dabei verzerrt.

Hast du mal den radeonhd Treiber ausprobiert?
Hat leider derzeit noch keine 3D Unterstützung für deine Karte.

Hast du mal den radeonhd Treiber ausprobiert?
Ja, das rpm-Paket habe ich mir noch vor meinem Versuch mit dem Cat8.2 vom openSuSE-ftp gezogen und mit Yast 'installiert'. Aber es tat sich nix. War immer noch der Vesa/Mesa-Ersatzteiber aktiv und die maximale Bildschirmauflösung lag bei 1400x1050 (4:3) und das war nicht per Yast änderbar. Leider gab es zu dem rpm-Paket kein Readme oder ähnliches, was einem irgendwie mal erklärt, wie man das Ding in openSuSE 10.3 einbinden und aktivieren muß, sodaß ich da dann auch nicht mehr weiter wußte ... Ne normale 2D-Beschleunigung in TrueColor und 1680x1050 würde mir für den Alltagsbetrieb schon reichen.

Danke, hab ich so gemacht. Treiber hab ich den für IGP oben in den news genommen. Ist Englisch, hab aber nicht mit Problemen gerechnet.
Treiber hat sich auch offenbar laut GPU-Z installiert, aber das CCC öffnet sich leider nicht. Kurze Festplattenaktivität, kurz eine Sanduhr, dann wars das.
Lustig ist, dass GPU-Z jetzt von einer RadeonX1200 Series spricht, vorher, da bin ich mir sicher, hieß es X1250. Und die Rev. kann nicht mehr angezeigt werden, ist jetzt ausgegraut. Ist das normal.
Und wie krieg ich jetzt das CCC wieder hin? .net 2.0 SP1 ist installiert......

Gerade ausprobiert und keine Probleme feststellen können (3850). Wenn mich nicht alles täuscht läuft GTR2 sogar um teilweise 10-20 fps schneller als noch zuvor, kann allerdings auch ein Irrtum meinerseits sein.
