SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Nov. 13, 2013 AMD (NYSE: AMD) today laun­ched the AMD Rade­on™ R9 270 gra­phics card, the newest addi­ti­on to the award-win­ning AMD Rade­on™ R9 Series GPUs, an impres­si­ve fami­ly of GPUs that mark a new era of PC gam­ing. The AMD Rade­on™ R9 270 GPU joins the AMD Rade­on™ R9 270X, R9 280X, R9 290 and R9 290X gra­phics cards, all desi­gned for enthu­si­ast gamers who expect next-gene­ra­ti­on hard­ware that can shat­ter the boun­da­ries of rea­lism and performance.

Based on AMD’s award-win­ning Gra­phics Core Next (GCN) archi­tec­tu­re, the AMD Rade­on R9 270 gra­phics card is fur­ther enhan­ced by Man­t­le, an indus­try-acclai­med tech­no­lo­gy deve­lo­ped by AMD to enable today’s top game deve­lo­pers to harness the GCN-powered cores of both PCs and con­so­les.  Man­t­le deli­vers a stream­li­ned deve­lo­p­ment pro­cess and games enab­led with Man­t­le will be able to speak the nati­ve lan­guage of the GCN archi­tec­tu­re, bene­fiting from hard­ware opti­miza­ti­on that unlocks revo­lu­tio­na­ry per­for­mance and image quality.
