Mentor Graphics Delivers Embedded Linux Software and Development Tools Solutions for 2nd Generation AMD Embedded R‑Series APU Customers

WILSONVILLE, Ore., May 20, 2014  – Men­tor Gra­phics Cor­po­ra­ti­on (NASDAQ: MENT) today announ­ced the avai­la­bi­li­ty of Men­tor® Embedded soft­ware for the new 2nd Gene­ra­ti­on AMD Embedded R‑Series APU (pre­vious­ly code­na­med: “Bald Eagle”). As gold-level mem­bers of The Linux Foundation’s Yoc­to Pro­ject, both AMD and Men­tor Gra­phics have ente­red into a mul­ti-year agree­ment to pro­vi­de embedded deve­lo­pers with a com­pre­hen­si­ve embedded Linux® and deve­lo­p­ment tools solution.

Embedded deve­lo­pers are able to imme­dia­te­ly begin their eva­lua­ti­on, pro­to­ty­p­ing, and deve­lo­p­ment today by down­loa­ding Men­tor Embedded Linux Lite and Sourcery’ Code­Bench Lite pro­ducts, both tail­o­red for the new 2nd Gene­ra­ti­on AMD Embedded R‑Series APUs. Addi­tio­nal­ly, tho­se deve­lo­pers who requi­re sup­port, com­mer­cial busi­ness terms, enhan­ced deve­lo­p­ment expe­ri­ence, or cus­to­miza­ti­on ser­vices can easi­ly migra­te to com­mer­cial ver­si­ons of the Men­tor Embedded Linux and/or Sourcery Code­Bench Pro­fes­sio­nal tools.

  • Sourcery Code­Bench Lite: A free com­mand-line based deve­lo­p­ment tool chain for embedded C/C++ that includes GNU C and C++ com­pi­lers, GNU assem­bler and lin­ker, GNU debug­ger and C and C++ run­time libraries.
