Oracle VirtualBox 4.3.14, 4.2.26, 4.1.34, 4.0.26 und 3.2.24

Für die kos­ten­lo­se Vir­tua­li­sie­rungs­soft­ware Vir­tu­al­Box wur­den zahl­rei­che Main­ten­an­ce Releases für die ver­schie­de­nen noch gepfleg­ten Haupt­strän­ge ver­öf­fent­licht, in der eine Rei­he von Bugs aus­ge­bes­sert wur­den. Vor der Ver­si­on 4 exis­tier­ten zwei ver­schie­de­ne Pake­te. Zum einen die Clo­sed-Source-Vari­an­te (“full bina­ry”) und zum ande­ren die “Open Source Edi­ti­on” (OSE), der ein paar Funk­tio­nen vor­ent­hal­ten blie­ben. Seit der Ver­si­on 4 wird nur noch die “Open Source Edi­ti­on” zum Down­load ange­bo­ten. Die zusätz­li­che Funk­tio­na­li­tät, die bis­her der Clo­sed-Source-Vari­an­te vor­be­hal­ten war, kann durch das nicht quell­of­fe­ne Exten­si­on Pack nach­ge­rüs­tet wer­den. Vir­tu­al­Box ist für Win­dows, Mac OS X, Linux und Sola­ris ver­füg­bar. Zu den unter­stütz­ten Gast­sys­te­men zäh­len neben Win­dows, Mac OS X, Linux und Sola­ris auch OS/2, DOS und eini­ge BSD-Derivate
