Dr. Lisa Su ist mit sofortiger Wirkung neue CEO von AMD

AMD hat in einer Pres­se­mit­tei­lung ver­laut­ba­ren las­sen, dass Rory Read, 52, nicht län­ger Chief Exe­cu­ti­ve Offi­cer (CEO) ist. An des­sen Stel­le instal­liert das Board of Direc­tors mit sofor­ti­ger Wir­kung Dr. Lisa Su, 44, die bis­her den Pos­ten der Chief Ope­ra­ti­ons Offi­cer (COO) beklei­de­te. Um einen so rei­bungs­lo­sen Über­gang wie mög­lich zu rea­li­sie­ren, wird Read in dem Kon­zern bis zum Jah­res­en­de 2014 in bera­ten­der Rol­le erhal­ten blei­ben. Zu den Grün­den für die­sen über­ra­schen­den Schritt wer­den kei­ne kon­kre­ten Anga­ben gemacht.

Offen­bar woll­te der Kon­zern Su als neue CEO her­an­füh­ren. Der Ver­wal­tungs­rat von AMD sah wohl in Read eher den Sanie­rer und hält jetzt den rich­ti­gen Zeit­punkt gekom­men, um wie­der einen CEO mit tech­ni­schem Hin­ter­grund zu instal­lie­ren. Ent­spre­chend wür­digt auch Su die Leis­tun­gen ihres Vor­gän­gers und will dar­auf aufbauen.
