SAPPHIRE Announces New Family of Compact AMD Ryzen™ Embedded Processor Based Motherboards at Embedded World 2020

SAPPHIRE Tech­no­lo­gy builds on the repu­ta­ti­on and strength of its embedded sys­tems busi­ness divi­si­on by announ­cing a new series of embedded mother­boards with a com­pact foot­print that deli­ver impro­ved levels of per­for­mance, fea­tures and sta­bi­li­ty to cus­to­mers. Powered by the latest AMD Ryzen™ Embedded Pro­ces­sor which fea­ture the AMD Rade­onTM “Vega” gra­phics com­bi­ned with the high-per­for­mance “Zen” CPU, the BP-FP5 and NP-FP5 embedded plat­forms pro­vi­de a sta­ble balan­ce of low power con­sump­ti­on and opti­mi­zed per­for­mance for the embedded markets.

Accor­ding to Paul Smith, Direc­tor of SAPPHIRE’s Embedded Busi­ness Divi­si­on, “the ver­sa­ti­le and effec­ti­ve design of the­se boards with low power com­pu­te and high-reso­lu­ti­on mul­ti­me­dia dis­play capa­bi­li­ty make them per­fect for a wide varie­ty of indus­try appli­ca­ti­ons in the Embedded space such as indus­tri­al PC, inter­ac­ti­ve digi­tal signage, thin cli­ents and POS terminals”.

SAPPHIRE’s BP-FP5 and NP-FP5 embedded boards have a com­pact foot­print of 4 inches x 4 inches and fea­ture up to 32 GB dual-chan­nel DDR4 (2400 MHz) SODIMM memo­ry as well as expan­si­on inter­faces inclu­ding M.2 sockets for WiFi and SSD modu­les. The BP-FP5 sup­ports up to three inde­pen­dent 4K dis­plays with on board 2 x Dis­play­Po­rt (DP) and 1 x HDMI 2.0 and I/O con­nec­ti­vi­ty of 5 x USB ports. The NP-FP5 sup­ports up to two inde­pen­dent 4K dis­plays with on board 2x mini-Dis­play­Po­rt (DP) and I/O con­nec­ti­vi­ty of 5 x USB ports. Moreo­ver, the BP-FP5 and NP-FP5 boards ope­ra­te with maxi­mum APU ther­mal design power (TDP) of 25W whilst deli­ve­ring out­stan­ding com­pu­te and gra­phics performance.

The BP-FP5 and NP-FP5 sup­port the latest AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 and R1000 Pro­ces­sors that pro­vi­de ultra-high per­for­mance to embedded mar­kets by com­bi­ning the powerful per­for­mance of the pio­nee­ring “Zen” CPU and “Vega” GPU archi­tec­tures in a seam­less­ly-inte­gra­ted SoC solu­ti­on that sets a new stan­dard for next-gene­ra­ti­on embedded designs.
