GF셲 dif짯fe짯ren짯tia짯ted 12LP+ solu짯ti짯on is opti짯mi짯zed for arti짯fi짯ci짯al intel짯li짯gence (AI) trai짯ning and infe짯rence appli짯ca짯ti짯ons. Built on a pro짯ven plat짯form with a robust pro짯duc짯tion eco짯sys짯tem, 12LP+ offers chip desi짯gners an effi짯ci짯ent deve짯lo짯p짯ment expe짯ri짯ence and a fast time-to-market.

Con짯tri짯bu짯ting to its best-in-class com짯bi짯na짯ti짯on of per짯for짯mance, power and area, 12LP+ intro짯du짯ces new fea짯tures inclu짯ding an updated stan짯dard cell libra짯ry, an inter짯po짯ser for 2.5D pack짯a짯ging, and a low-power 0.5V Vmin SRAM bit짯cell that sup짯ports the low laten짯cy and power-effi짯ci짯ent shut짯t짯ling of data bet짯ween the AI pro짯ces짯sors and memo짯ry. Dri짯ving the enhan짯ced per짯for짯mance of 12LP+ are fea짯tures inclu짯ding a 20-per짯cent SoC-level logic per짯for짯mance boost over 12LP, and a 10-per짯cent impro짯ve짯ment in logic area sca짯ling. The짯se advance짯ments are achie짯ved in 12LP+ through its next-gene짯ra짯ti짯on stan짯dard cell libra짯ry with per짯for짯mance-dri짯ven area opti짯mi짯zed com짯pon짯ents, sin짯gle Fin cells, a new low-vol짯ta짯ge SRAM bit짯cell, and impro짯ved ana짯log lay짯out design rules.

12LP+, a spe짯cia짯li짯zed appli짯ca짯ti짯on solu짯ti짯on, is aug짯men짯ted by GFAI design refe짯rence packa짯ge, as well as GF셲 co-deve짯lo짯p짯ment, pack짯a짯ging, and post-fab turn짯key ser짯vices which tog짯e짯ther enable a holi짯stic expe짯ri짯ence for desig짯ning low-power, cost-effec짯ti짯ve cir짯cuits opti짯mi짯zed for AI appli짯ca짯ti짯ons. Clo짯se col짯la짯bo짯ra짯ti짯on bet짯ween GF and its eco짯sys짯tem part짯ners results in cost-effec짯ti짯ve deve짯lo짯p짯ment cos짯ts and a quicker time to market.

In addi짯ti짯on to 12LP셲 exis짯ting IP port짯fo짯lio, GF will expand the IP vali짯da짯ti짯ons for 12LP+ to include PCIe 3/4/5 and USB 2/3 to host pro짯ces짯sors, HBM2/2e, DDR/LPDDR4/4x and GDDR6 to exter짯nal memo짯ry, and chip-to-chip inter짯con짯nect for desi짯gners and cli짯ents pur짯suing chip짯let architectures.

GFs 12LP+ solu짯ti짯on has been qua짯li짯fied and is curr짯ent짯ly rea짯dy for pro짯duc짯tion at GF셲 Fab 8 in Mal짯ta, New York. Seve짯ral 12LP+ tape-outs are sche짯du짯led for the second half of 2020. GF recent짯ly announ짯ced it would bring its Fab 8 faci짯li짯ty into com짯pli짯ance with both the U.S. Inter짯na짯tio짯nal Traf짯fic in Arms Regu짯la짯ti짯ons (ITAR) stan짯dards and the Export Admi짯nis짯tra짯ti짯on Regu짯la짯ti짯ons (EAR).
