HOUSTON(BUSINESS WIRE)Hew짯lett Packard Enter짯pri짯se (NYSE: HPE) today announ짯ced it has been award짯ed $40M SGD to build a new super짯com짯pu짯ter for the Natio짯nal Super짯com짯pu짯ting Cent짯re (NSCC) Sin짯ga짯po짯re, the natio짯nal high-per짯for짯mance com짯pu짯ting (HPC) resour짯ce cen짯ter dedi짯ca짯ted to sup짯port짯ing sci짯ence and engi짯nee짯ring com짯pu짯ting needs for aca짯de짯mic, rese짯arch and indus짯try com짯mu짯ni짯ties. The new sys짯tem, which will be 8X fas짯ter com짯pared to NSCC셲 exis짯ting pool of HPC resour짯ces, will expand and aug짯ment ongo짯ing rese짯arch efforts by enab짯ling tools such as arti짯fi짯ci짯al intel짯li짯gence (AI) and deep machi짯ne lear짯ning to opti짯mi짯ze mode짯ling, simu짯la짯ti짯on and even soft짯ware simu짯la짯ti짯on for quan짯tum com짯pu짯ting. NSCC will use the sys짯tem to unlock sci짯en짯ti짯fic dis짯co짯veries across medi짯ci짯ne, dise짯a짯ses, cli짯ma짯te, engi짯nee짯ring and more.

The new super짯com짯pu짯ter was fun짯ded through a SGD200 mil짯li짯on invest짯ment that was announ짯ced by the Sin짯ga짯po짯re govern짯ment in March 2019 to boost Singapore셲 high-per짯for짯mance com짯pu짯ting resources.

The NSCC셲 new super짯com짯pu짯ter will be built and powered using the HPE Cray EX super짯com짯pu짯ter, which is an HPC sys짯tem desi짯gned to sup짯port next-gene짯ra짯ti짯on super짯com짯pu짯ting, such as Exas짯ca짯le-class sys짯tems, that also fea짯tures a full stack of pur짯po짯se-built tech짯no짯lo짯gies across com짯pu짯te, soft짯ware, sto짯rage and net짯wor짯king to harness insights from vast, com짯plex data more quick짯ly and effi짯ci짯ent짯ly. The advan짯ced per짯for짯mance will help tack짯le com짯pu짯te and data-inten짯si짯ve mode짯ling and simu짯la짯ti짯on needs requi짯ring hig짯her speed and tar짯ge짯ted HPC and arti짯fi짯ci짯al intel짯li짯gence capabilities.
