AMD Catalyst 14.11.2 Beta — Performance-Treiber für Dragon Age: Inquisition und Far Cry 4

AMD hat einen Performance-Treiber für die AAA-Videospiele Dragon Age: Inquisition und Far Cry 4 veröffentlicht, der abermals nur Unterstützung für dedizierte Grafikkarten und APUs mit einer GPU auf Basis der GCN-Architektur bietet. Während für Dragon Age: Inquisition lediglich eine 5 % höhere Performance notiert wird, verspricht das Treiber-Team in Far Cry 4 bei aktivierter Kantenglättung enorme 50 % (bis zu) mehr Performance. Allerdings hat sich AMD dazu entschlossen, vorerst CrossFire in Far Cry 4 zu deaktivieren, bis die Multi-GPU-Probleme behoben sind. Laut AMD sollte vor der Installation des Catalyst 14.11.2 Beta unbedingt der alte Treiber deinstalliert werden. Für ältere Grafikkarten aus den Serien Radeon HD 5000 und HD 6000 steht weiterhin der Catalyst 14.9.1 als aktueller Beta-Treiber zur Verfügung. [Update: Mittlerweile wurde der Treiberdownload aktualisiert. Die aktuelle Version des Catalyst 14.11.2 Beta unterstützt jetzt auch die älteren Generationen Radeon HD 5000 und HD 6000.]
In die November-Ausgabe des Treiberpaketes sind zudem erneut Optimierungen zur Verbesserung der Stabilität und Kompatibilität mit diversen Anwendungen eingeflossen. Eine vollständige Liste der vom Treiber unterstützten Hardware sowie sämtlicher behobener und bekannter Probleme kann den offiziellen Release Notes entnommen werden. AMD Catalyst 14.11.2 Beta — CCC-Softwareinformation
Die Treiber stehen für Windows 8.1 und 7 zum Download bereit. Windows 8 wurde letztmals mit dem Catalyst 14.4 WHQL offiziell unterstützt. Vista-Nutzer können den Treiber ebenfalls installieren, allerdings hat uns AMD zu verstehen gegeben, dass Microsofts ungeliebter Spross in der Qualitätssicherung und Entwicklung nur noch eine untergeordnete Rolle spielt.

Important Notes
- All previous versions of AMD Catalyst drivers must be completely uninstalled to receive full benefits of this driver. Please make sure to completely uninstall all previous AMD Catalyst display drivers before installing the 14.11.2 Beta.
- The AMD CrossFire profile for Far Cry 4 is currently disabled in this driver while AMD works with Ubisoft to investigate an issue where AMD CrossFire configurations are not performing as intended. An update is expected on this issue in the near future through an updated game patch or an AMD driver posting.

- Assassins Creed Unity occasionally exits to desktop when “ultra” game settings are applied.

- [408007]: Civilization: Beyond Earth can sometimes hang on a small limited set of Kaveri mobile APU products when paired with discrete graphics products in Windows 7
Important Notes
- AMD is currently working with Firaxis to resolve an issue where the interactive and visual elements of the mouse cursor can become offset. If you encounter this issue, the following workaround is available:
- Go to Windows Settings and adjust Text Scaling
- Right-Click the Desktop
- Select Screen Resolution
- Make Test and Other Items Larger or Smaller
- Set 100% Default
- AMD is working with Firaxis to resolve an issue where graphics stuttering may be observed under high map zoom and high image quality settings.
Multi-monitor gaming in Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth
Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth does not support multi-monitor configurations. Launching the game in such configurations may cause the game to hang.
Multi-GPU in Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth
Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth presently supports a maximum of two graphics cards in Mantle. If you are using more than two graphics products with Mantle for this game, it is required that disable the extra linked adapters through Windows device manager.
