AMD Catalyst 14.11.2 Beta — Performance-Treiber für Dragon Age: Inquisition und Far Cry 4

AMD hat einen Per­for­mance-Trei­ber für die AAA-Video­spie­le Dra­gon Age: Inqui­si­ti­on und Far Cry 4 ver­öf­fent­licht, der aber­mals nur Unter­stüt­zung für dedi­zier­te Gra­fik­kar­ten und APUs mit einer GPU auf Basis der GCN-Archi­tek­tur bie­tet. Wäh­rend für Dra­gon Age: Inqui­si­ti­on ledig­lich eine 5 % höhe­re Per­for­mance notiert wird, ver­spricht das Trei­ber-Team in Far Cry 4 bei akti­vier­ter Kan­ten­glät­tung enor­me 50 % (bis zu) mehr Per­for­mance. Aller­dings hat sich AMD dazu ent­schlos­sen, vor­erst Cross­Fi­re in Far Cry 4 zu deak­ti­vie­ren, bis die Mul­ti-GPU-Pro­ble­me beho­ben sind. Laut AMD soll­te vor der Instal­la­ti­on des Cata­lyst 14.11.2 Beta unbe­dingt der alte Trei­ber deinstal­liert wer­den. Für älte­re Gra­fik­kar­ten aus den Seri­en Rade­on HD 5000 und HD 6000 steht wei­ter­hin der Cata­lyst 14.9.1 als aktu­el­ler Beta-Trei­ber zur Ver­fü­gung. [Update: Mitt­ler­wei­le wur­de der Trei­ber­down­load aktua­li­siert. In die Novem­ber-Aus­ga­be des Trei­ber­pa­ke­tes sind zudem erneut Opti­mie­run­gen zur Ver­bes­se­rung der Sta­bi­li­tät und Kom­pa­ti­bi­li­tät mit diver­sen Anwen­dun­gen ein­ge­flos­sen. Die Trei­ber ste­hen für Win­dows 8.1 und 7 zum Down­load bereit. Win­dows 8 wur­de letzt­mals mit dem Cata­lyst 14.4 WHQL offi­zi­ell unter­stützt. Vis­ta-Nut­zer kön­nen den Trei­ber eben­falls instal­lie­ren, aller­dings hat uns AMD zu ver­ste­hen gege­ben, dass Micro­softs unge­lieb­ter Spross in der Qua­li­täts­si­che­rung und Ent­wick­lung nur noch eine unter­ge­ord­ne­te Rol­le spielt.

Sid Meier’s Civi­liza­ti­on: Bey­ond Earth pre­sent­ly sup­ports a maxi­mum of two gra­phics cards in Man­t­le. If you are using more than two gra­phics pro­ducts with Man­t­le for this game, it is requi­red that disable the extra lin­ked adap­ters through Win­dows device manager.
