Broadcom stellt Netzwerkadapter mit PCI-Express 4.0 vor

In einer Pres­se­mit­tei­lung hat Broad­com eine Rei­he von Netz­werk­ad­ap­tern im OCP NIC 3.0 Form­fak­tor mit Geschwin­dig­kei­ten von bis zu 200 Gbit/s vor­ge­stellt, die auch PCI-Express 4.0 unter­stüt­zen. Nach­dem Phison bereits im Janu­ar einen PCI-Express 4.0 SSD-Con­trol­ler zeig­te, nimmt damit der neue Stan­dard wei­ter Fahrt auf, den AMD mit den kom­men­den Zen 2 Pro­zes­so­ren, sowohl im Server‑, als auch Desk­top­be­reich Mit­te 2019 ein­brin­gen wird. Der­weil plant Giga­byte bereits ers­te Pro­duk­te für AMDs Epyc Prozessoren.

Giga­byte, die bereits im Novem­ber mit dem MZ32-AR0 ein ers­tes Ser­ver-Main­board für Rome mit PCI-Express 4.0 zeig­ten, gab in Per­son von Aki­ra Hoshi­no (Lei­ter der Pro­dukt­stra­te­gie und ‑pla­nung) an, dass die ers­ten Pro­duk­te, die den OCP NIC 3.0 Form­fak­tor unter­stüt­zen, auf Basis von Broad­coms Netz­werk­ad­ap­tern und AMD Epyc Pro­duk­ten rea­li­siert werden.
