SPINNAKER2: TU DRESDEN, UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER UND GLOBALFOUNDRIES GELINGT DURCHBRUCH BEI KI-CLOUD-SYSTEMEN
Die Technische Universität Dresden, die University of Manchester, die Racyics GmbH und Globalfoundries (GF) gaben heute das so genannte Tapeout des SpiNNaker2-Chips bekannt – eines neuen Chips für künstliche Intelligenz, der vom menschlichen Gehirn inspiriert ist.
Basierend auf der von der Universität Manchester entwickelten SpiNNaker-Infrastruktur, der an der TU Dresden realisierten hybriden KI-Architektur, der adaptiven Body-Bias-IP-Plattform ABX von Racyics und unter Verwendung der 22FDX-Lösung von Globalfoundries ist SpiNNaker2 ein neuromorpher KI-Echtzeitprozessor mit beispielloser Effizienz und einer Latenzzeit von unter einer Millisekunde für ereignisbasierte Systeme entstanden.
SpiNNaker2 ist unter Echtzeitbetrieb für eine Skalierung bis zu einem Cloud-System mit 70.000 Chips ausgelegt und damit ein Schlüsselbaustein für Echtzeit-KI bei extrem hohen Datenraten. SpiNNaker2 wird einen disruptiven Einfluss auf KI-Anwendungen wie Smart Cities, 5G, taktiles Internet und autonomes Fahren haben, weil keine andere aktuelle Hardware die gleichzeitigen Anforderungen an niedrige Latenz, hohen Durchsatz und Energieeffizienz abdeckt. Xilinx Reports Fiscal First Quarter 2022 Results
- Record revenue of $879 million, representing 3% sequential growth and 21% annual growth, despite ongoing industry-wide supply chain challenges
- Data Center Group (DCG) revenue in the quarter increased 14% sequentially driven by strong demand across hyperscale cloud customers and the Fintech market
- Wired and Wireless Group (WWG) revenue was up 13% year-over-year and flat sequentially driven by continuing global 5G deployments
- Aerospace & Defense, Industrial and Test, Measurement & Emulation (AIT) revenue declined 10% sequentially, with record Industrial end market performance offset by a decline in Aerospace & Defense sales, and a modest decline in TME
- Automotive, Broadcast and Consumer (ABC) revenue in the quarter increased 13% sequentially, with record quarters in the Broadcast and Consumer end markets
- Platform transformation continues with total Adaptive SoC revenue, which includes Zynq and Versal platforms, up 13% sequentially and 83% year-over-year, and representing 28% of total revenue
- Fiscal first quarter free cash flow of $373 million, representing 42% of revenue
