GIGABYTE Launches 1st Wave of Servers for AMD EPYC™ 7003 Series Processors

Tai­pei, Tai­wan, March 16th 2021 – GIGABYTE Tech­no­lo­gy, (TWSE: 2376), an indus­try lea­der in high-per­for­mance ser­vers and work­sta­tions, today announ­ced over 40 ser­vers and ser­ver mother­boards rea­dy for the new AMD EPYC™ 7003 Series pro­ces­sors. The­se new ser­vers will tar­get modern data cen­ters on-prem and cloud as well as pro­vi­de gene­ra­tio­nal impro­ve­ments to deli­ver excep­tio­nal per­for­mance in HPC, HCI vir­tua­liza­ti­on, cloud, and data analytics.

AMD EPYC™ 7003 Series Processors
Based on the 7nm pro­cess node, AMD EPYC 7002 and 7003 Series pro­ces­sors sup­port up to 64 cores and 128 threads. They also sup­port up to 4TB DDR4 memo­ry per socket, and up to 3200MHz DDR4. For fast PCIe 4.0 con­nec­tions bet­ween CPU and dri­ves or acce­le­ra­tors, 128–160 PCIe lanes are available. With the addi­ti­on of the AMD EPYC 7003 Series pro­ces­sors comes:

BIOS Update für EPYC Milan entfernt Support für EPYC Naples

In Kür­ze erfolgt der offi­zi­el­le Start für die 3. Gene­ra­ti­on EPYC “Milan”. Auch wenn seit Sep­tem­ber 2020 AMD die­se bereits an bestimm­te Groß­kun­den aus­lie­fert. Mitt­ler­wei­le sind die ers­ten BIOS Updates für “nor­ma­le” Kun­den frei­ver­füg­bar. So gibt es bei Giga­byte bereits für Sys­te­me die das MZ92-FS0 Board benut­zen (R282-Serie) das ent­spre­chen­de BIOS-Update. Eine klei­ne aber für eini­ge böse Über­ra­schung steht jedoch bevor! Am letz­ten Mitt­woch hat AMD die Rade­on RX 6700 XT vor­ge­stellt, die ab dem 18. März ab 479 US-Dol­lar (Refe­renz­de­sign) erhält­lich sein soll. In unse­rer heu­ti­gen Umfra­ge wol­len wir wis­sen, wie die Vor­stel­lung bei Euch ankam bzw. was ihr trotz der noch feh­len­den unab­hän­gi­gen Tests von der neu­en Gra­fik­kar­te haltet

Lei­der sind auf Grund der neu­en Foren­soft­ware kei­ne Abstim­mun­gen von Gäs­ten mehr mög­lich, aber eine Regis­trie­rung bei uns im Forum geht schnell und wir freu­en uns über jeden neu­en Teilnehmer.

In einer Video­prä­sen­ta­ti­on hat AMD gestern die Rade­on RX 6700 XT auf Basis von Navi 22 vor­ge­stellt (zur Pres­se­mit­tei­lung), die­se soll ab dem 18. März im Refe­renz­de­sign und in Her­stel­ler­de­signs erschei­nen. Eine unver­bind­li­che Preis­emp­feh­lung in Euro liegt noch nicht vor, das Refe­renz­de­sign wird aber mit 479 US-Dol­lar ange­prie­sen und wird auch bei AMD zu kau­fen sein — eine Ver­füg­bar­keit vor­aus­ge­setzt.
