Seit einer Woche läuft der Pent­ath­lon 2022, der wohl renom­mier­tes­te Wett­be­werb im Dis­tri­bu­ted Com­pu­ting, bereits. Die ers­ten Tage sah es ganz gut aus für unser Team, die Titel­ver­tei­di­gung schien ein mach­ba­res Unter­fan­gen zu sein. Nun jedoch, wo inzwi­schen alle zum Wett­be­werb zäh­len­den Pro­jek­te bekannt gege­ben wor­den sind, dürf­te es eine ganz har­te Nuss wer­den. Mercury Research: AMD erneut mit Rekordmarktanteil bei x86-Prozessoren

Laut neu­es­ten Zah­len von Mer­cu­ry Rese­arch für das ers­te Quar­tal 2022 hat AMD beim Gesamt­markt­an­teil der x86-Pro­zes­so­ren wie bereits im letz­ten Quar­tal mit 27,7 Pro­zent einen wei­te­ren Rekord erzielt. Zuge­win­ne beim Markt­an­teil gab es in allen Berei­chen, aller­dings soll sowohl der Desktop‑, als auch der Note­book­be­reich bei den Gesamt­stück­zah­len geschrumpft sein . SEC Charges NVIDIA Corporation with Inadequate Disclosures about Impact of Cryptomining

Washing­ton D.C., May 6, 2022 — The Secu­ri­ties and Exch­an­ge Com­mis­si­on today announ­ced sett­led char­ges against tech­no­lo­gy com­pa­ny NVIDIA Cor­po­ra­ti­on for ina­de­qua­te dis­clo­sures con­cer­ning the impact of cryp­to­mi­ning on the company’s gam­ing business.

The SEC’s order finds that, during con­se­cu­ti­ve quar­ters in NVIDIA’s fis­cal year 2018, the com­pa­ny fai­led to dis­c­lo­se that cryp­to­mi­ning was a signi­fi­cant ele­ment of its mate­ri­al reve­nue growth from the sale of its gra­phics pro­ces­sing units (GPUs) desi­gned and mar­ke­ted for gam­ing. Cryp­to­mi­ning is the pro­cess of obtai­ning cryp­to rewards in exch­an­ge for veri­fy­ing cryp­to tran­sac­tions on dis­tri­bu­ted led­gers. Seit dem 5. Mai läuft der BOINC-Pent­ath­lon 2022 im Dis­tri­bu­ted Com­pu­ting, bei dem auch Pla­net 3DNow! mit dabei ist – als Titel­ver­tei­di­ger. Bis­her lief es sehr gut für unser Team: beim Hin­der­nis­lauf, der Nach­fol­ge-Dis­zi­plin für den bis­he­ri­gen Mara­thon, lie­gen wir deut­lich in Füh­rung. Selbst die von eini­gen Mit­be­wer­bern exak­ter getim­ten Bun­ker­wür­fe an den “Hin­der­nis-Tagen”, an denen es Bonus­punk­te gibt für zurück­ge­sand­te WUs, konn­ten unser Team bis­her nicht auf­hal­ten. AMD Quartalszahlen Q1/2022: Fast 6 Milliarden Umsatz

Bereits am Diens­tag nach Bör­sen­schluss hat AMD die Zah­len des ers­ten Quar­tals 2022 ver­kün­det. Es wur­de ein Rekord­um­satz von 5,887 Mil­li­ar­den US-Dol­lar erzielt und dabei einen Net­to­ge­winn von 786 Mil­lio­nen US-Dol­lar erwirt­schaf­tet. Der Gewinn pro Aktie lag bei 0,56 US-Dol­lar (Alle Zah­len nach GAAP).

Erwar­tet hat­te AMD einen Umsatz von 5,0 Mil­li­ar­den US-Dol­lar (+/-  100 Mil­lio­nen). Aller­dings kamen im ers­ten Quar­tal 559 Mil­lio­nen US-Dol­lar Umsatz von Xilinx hin­zu. Nichts­des­to­trotz hat man nach des­sen Abzug die vor­he­ri­ge Umsatz­er­war­tung um mehr als 200 Mil­lio­nen US-Dol­lar über­trof­fen. Mit erwar­te­ten 6,5 Mil­li­ar­den US-Dol­lar Umsatz für das zwei­te Quar­tal nähert sich AMD nun auch einer Mar­ke an, die man bis vor 3 Jah­ren ledig­lich für das gesam­te Jahr (6,73 Mil­li­ar­den US-Dol­lar in 2019) aus­wei­sen konn­te.
